Mango Wood Platter with Rabbit Carving

Description

We have created some stunning long mango wood platters with our signature rabbit carving design on the edge, and finished with a brass hole for hanging.

Each piece is individual and unique as they are handmade by artisan carpenters and wood-workers. They feature a beautiful, subtle and decadent hand-carved rabbit on the edge of the handle which makes them truly unique and a piece that you will never find again. They have been sourced from sustainable mango wood which can range from a light wood, to a rich and dark wood. The nature of this wood makes them decorative and functional – ideal for serving mezze or antipasti, place little dipping bowls along its surface and add some pieces of fresh crusty bread to make the perfect table centre.

Each piece is individual and unique, so they may vary slightly in size and colour. This is because they are hand-carved just for you! Dimensions: approx. 14cm wide x 47cm long x 1.5cm tall. Rabbit: 4cm long x 1.5 tall.

The mango wood used for these platters is sustainable. Mango trees are initially grown for their fruit but once the trees reach a certain size and age, they stop bearing fruit. It is then that the trees can be cut down and used to create wood products. The removal of the old trees makes space for farmers to plant new mango trees. This not only means that none of the wood is wasted but offers a supplementary income to mango wood farmers. Mango wood is a hard wood that comes in many shades from light to dark.

In order to keep your mango wood looking its best, hand-wash only and do not leave soaking in water or exposed to heat or sunshine.
